We were honored and fulfilled to see the first generation of virtually trained laparoscopists being graduated from the University Diploma in Laparoscopy from the Lebanese University. Virtual simulation is only part of a comprehensive curriculum; however, students expressed their enthusiasm and comfort using technological tools to train and develop their skills without the need for physical presence of their mentor and without feeling the stress of a potential harm to a real patient. They stated they could operate their first real patient with much more confidence and definitely better outcomes.
